About the Society
The Calvary Missionaries of the Divine Paraclete (CMDP), formerly known as the Missionary Society of Divine Paraclete (MDP) is a Catholic missionary association dedicated to the renewal of Christian life through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
Inspired by the presence and guidance of the Divine Paraclete, the Society seeks to foster spiritual regeneration in individuals, communities, and the wider Church through prayer, evangelization, and apostolic service.
Rooted in a spirituality that is profoundly Marian and Eucharistic, and marked by the Paschal mystery of Christ, the Society embraces the call to Duc in Altum, to go forth with courage into the depths of mission, bringing the light of the Gospel to all.
The Society gathers members who are committed to deep union with Christ and to missionary outreach aimed at rekindling faith, strengthening spiritual life, and responding generously to the call of the Gospel.

Rev. Fr. Stephen Okwuchukwu Ilechukwu, CO
Founder, Calvary Missionaries of the Divine Paraclete
Our Founder
The Calvary Missionaries of the Divine Paraclete was founded by Rev. Fr. Stephen Okwuchukwu Ilechukwu, CO, whose priestly ministry is deeply rooted in devotion to the Holy Spirit and a passionate commitment to the renewal of souls.
Through prayer, pastoral ministry, and missionary work, he discerned the need for a spiritual movement that would respond to the thirst of Christ for souls by fostering regeneration in the hearts of believers.
Guided by the inspiration of the Divine Paraclete, he established the Society as a missionary association dedicated to evangelization, spiritual renewal, and apostolic outreach.
Our Spiritual Identity
The Calvary Missionaries of the Divine Paraclete lives its mission through a distinctive spiritual identity rooted in its charism, apostolate, and guiding motto.
Charism: Regeneration
The Calvary Missionaries of the Divine Paraclete is animated by the charism of Regeneration, a spiritual call to renew hearts and restore souls through the transforming grace of the Holy Spirit.
In a world often wounded by sin, discouragement, and spiritual emptiness, the Society seeks to proclaim the message of interior renewal, that every person can experience new life in Christ. Through prayer, evangelization, spiritual formation, and pastoral accompaniment, the Society works to awaken in souls a deeper openness to the Holy Spirit, the Divine Paraclete who renews the face of the earth.
This charism invites both missionaries and those they serve to rediscover the joy of conversion, the healing power of grace, and the call to live fully in communion with Christ and His Church.
Apostolate: Duc in Altum
Inspired by the words of Christ, “Duc in Altum” — “Put out into the deep” (Luke 5:4), the Society embraces a missionary spirit of courage, trust, and apostolic dedication.
Members of the Society are called to move beyond the ordinary, bringing the Gospel to places where faith must be renewed and strengthened, always trusting in the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Our Motto
“The closer we are to Jesus, the better we will know His thirst.”
— St. Teresa of Calcutta
The Name “Divine Paraclete”
The name Divine Paraclete reflects the Society’s deep devotion to the Holy Spirit, whom Christ promised to send as the Advocate and Comforter of the Church.
The word Paraclete comes from the Greek Parakletos, meaning helper, advocate, and counselor. In the life of the Church, the Holy Spirit is the divine guide who renews hearts, strengthens faith, and leads believers into the fullness of truth.
By placing its mission under the patronage of the Divine Paraclete, the Society entrusts its work of evangelization and spiritual renewal to the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit.
